In general, larger search coils provide better depth for larger targets and enhanced ground coverage. However, sensitivity to smaller objects may be reduced. Smaller search coils offer greater sensitivity to smaller objects and improved target separation in trashy soil. This 8" coil is mid-range, combining good depth with good sensitivity. All Fisher search coils are electrostatically shielded and waterproof.
